Established in 1950, General Coach commenced production by building the "Beaver" travel trailer.
General Coach Canada was established in Hensall, Ontario in 1950 as General Coach. General Coach commenced production by building a 16’ “Beaver” travel trailer in the early 1950’s followed by the introduction of a 40 x 8 mobile home in the early 1960’s through to the 1970’s.
General Coach has had numerous corporate owners during the past 60 years, companies such as Divco Wayne, Boise Cascade, Bendix Corporation, Commodore Corporation and for the past 28 years; Thor Industries. In May 2010 Thor Industries sold all interest in General Coach Canada to Roger Faulkner who previously held the position of President. Roger Faulkner and Roger’s son, Chris Faulkner, continue the legacy. Today General Coach Canada is family owned and operated, giving it the personal touch.
Roger has been involved in all aspects of the RV Industry since 1968. Roger is one of the founding fathers of the Canadian Go-RVing program and has held the position of President of the Canadian Recreation Vehicle Association numerous times. Roger is also the Chairman of the CSA-Z241 technical committee on Park Model Recreational Vehicles, a position he has held since 1990.
Chris Faulkner is currently Vice President and dedicates most of his time looking after the sales and marketing aspects of the business. He is also active within the industry. He is a Director of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association, is actively involved in the Canadian Go-RVing campaign by sitting as a Committee member and is a member of the Toronto International Show Committee.

They produce heavy-duty travel trailers, which are designed for oil patch accommodation in Northern climates. Faulkner’s philosophy is simple; “you have to find a room where there are not a lot of people and you must have unique products. It is a lot easier to survive in business if the room is not crowded”. “This is a vital ingredient for success but even greater if you are a Canadian manufacturer”.
